Why do we exist?

Having   an   international   family   is   one   of   the   main   things   that   can make you feel at home. As international students ourselves we understand the challenges that you can face in an unfamiliar place, but it needn’t be a daunting experience. Our combined knowledge and experience aims to make your life easier! We organise events that touch upon every aspect of student life such as academic and social events. By inviting International students from all higher educational institutions in Rotterdam we hope to offer a platform that is one of a kind, where you can meet people you otherwise wouldn’t have had the opportunity to.

Our non-profit works strives to make you feel at ease. We operate with a start-up nature so that we constantly develop and improve, working tirelessly to inform you of all that you need to know. The aim for ISR is to make sure that every international student feels comfortable.

We help you integrate into Dutch society by providing information about our beautiful city, Rotterdam. For this purpose we have written the most comprehensive English student guide that Rotterdam has to offer. It contains information about all facets of student life.

In the summer of 2011, a group of students came together because they wanted to improve the lives of all international students in Rotterdam; they saw a gap in the market to improve the lives of other internationals that came into Rotterdam. They noticed that international students often have difficulties integrating into Dutch society and wanted to change that. They all loved Rotterdam and wanted to share this with other new arrivals.

As a group of students who all have some kind of international connection we understand the problems that you might face and can give you first hand experience in making sure that your stay is as rewarding as possible.

As you may know, it is quite challenging to arrange all the practicalities needed when you arrive in Rotterdam for the first time. You need to find a house, register at the municipality, open a bank account and get a phone contract to name a few. We are here to help you through that process.
